Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili condemned the explosion of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant in Ukraine, saying the act is “another severe war crime committed by Russia.”

“I strongly condemn another severe war crime committed by Russia. Horrible attack on civilian infrastructure – Nova Kakhovka dam once again shows Russia’s brutal tactics. These war crimes must be answered by justice,” she tweeted.

Early morning on June 6, the Russian occupation forces blew up the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant (HPP). The facility has been entirely wrecked since the turbine hall was blown up from within and cannot be restored.

Ukraine’s Energoatom said the explosion of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station by Russian troops could have negative consequences for the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant, but the situation is under control.
