"If we do not grow the immunization rate, unfortunately, we will have two-month cycles," said Amiran Gamkrelidze, director of the National Center for Disease Control, after the interagency council meeting.

He also talked about vaccination statistics.

"According to current data, 1,955 thousand citizens were vaccinated, including 98,908 people took one dose, while 928,081 people were fully vaccinated. Generally, 32.5% of the adult population is fully vaccinated. Pfizer vaccine is the most widely administered in the country, followed by Sinopharm, Sinovac, and finally Astrazeneca.

In the last 24 hours, vaccination dynamics were down and 4,927 doses of vaccines were administrated. Most vaccinations are given in Tbilisi, followed by Adjara and Imereti. Tbilisi is close to the target, which means to vaccinate 60% of the adult population, followed by Racha-Lechkhumi-Kvemo Svaneti and Adjara. We have the lowest rates in Kartli and Samtskhe-Javakheti,“ said Gamkrelidze.
