"Imported car delays are fixed in logistic chains. Everything is going on in the usual pre-pandemic rhythm," - Kakha Lomidze, the marketing manager of "Caucasian Auto Imports" announced while visiting TV-program "Business Morning".

As he noted, logistics prices remain high compared to the pre-pandemic period.

"Prices have not come down to the level they were before the pandemic. Prices are decreasing, but not at that level yet. However, the downward trend from December 2022 is very good,” - he explained.

Accoridng to Kakha Lomidze, the company was able to successfully adapt to force majeure in 2022, including the Russia-Ukraine War.

"2022 was a year of challenges, including a shortage of workforce, there was also a case that the port was closed and cargo turnover became a problem. The Russia-Ukraine War is also a challenge for us, because we were supplying cars to the Ukrainian market, and this market was closed to us.

When the war started, we had to take the cargo somewhere, because we had already taken responsibility for the Ukrainian customers. The company, at the expense of a lot of money, packed this cargo again in Georgia. These crises brought about an increase in the demand for car imports in Georgia," - noted Kakha Lomidze.

In 11M2022, light vehicles took first place among the largest import commodity groups with 11.6%-share. During the mentioned period, 131,941 cars worth USD 1.391 billion were imported into Georgia. The average cost of an imported car was USD 10,500.
