In the 7-day period, Georgia is the first in the world with infection per 100,000 inhabitants - NYT

report of The New York Times, which covers the rate of COVID-19 infection per 100,000 people worldwide over the past 7 days, ranks Georgia as the first globally in terms of registered infections. 95.9 cases of new infections were detected per 100,000 inhabitants in Georgia. After Georgia, Luxembourg, Montenegro, and Serbia are on the list. For comparison, in Russia, this figure is 16 new infections, in Turkey 5.6, in Ukraine 29, in Armenia 43, and in Azerbaijan 25.

According to the government website stopcov.ge, 3958 new cases of virus infection were detected today, as a result of which the total number of infections increased to 108690. The death toll has risen by 36 to 1012 people today.
