According to the Minister of Health, there are several problems related to family doctors, which is why the state will increase the number of Covid clinics.
Ekaterine Tikaradze focused on the number of regional clinics after the meeting of the Coordination Council.
"We have involved 25 clinics in the management of Covid, and their number has increased to 66. We are moving towards the principle that family physicians will be on a case-by-case basis with patients according to districts.
We have the ability to redirect patients with this filter, which will make everything much more flexible. Therefore, redirection of calls to doctors will not be a large number, and each doctor will have 3 to 5 patients to monitor according to current statistics. We plan to add 9 clinics in Tbilisi in the coming days, 3 in Samegrelo, 1 in Mtskheta, and 3 in Imereti," she said, adding that a total of 6 more clinics will be added in Imereti and Samegrelo next week.
According to her the increase in the number of clinics will significantly improve the monitoring of calls and patients, as the program will already involve all family doctors in Georgia.
"Doctors have been trained many times. They have detailed protocols on how to manage patients. We are constantly updating the protocols. Today the criteria for hospitalization and home management will be renewed, which will be known to the public and doctors from next week, "- said Ekaterine Tikaradze.
