TBC Capital reports, that the double-digit inflation rate in the country will be maintained until the end of the year, and in December it is expected to be within 13%.

TBC Bank's chief economist Otar Nadaraia names reasons for the record inflation rate, these are sharp depreciation of lari and rising prices for commodities on international markets.

"The main reason for high inflation is weak lari, as well as rising prices for commodities on the international markets. However, we have a very strong economic recovery this year, which also puts pressure on the prices”, - Nadaraia declares.

According to the economist, relatively high inflation is in many countries and this is not only Georgia’s problem. As for the forecast, Otar Nadariaia notes, that inflation will be slightly down in the next two months, but still high in December.

“Assuming that commodity prices will be stable and national currency continues strengthening, we think that in the next two months inflation may decrease slightly, but in December it will still be high, probably within 13%. From 2022, we expect it to decrease aggressively and approach the target rate," Nadaraia said.
