Company "Agronet" plans to build two walnut processing plants in Georgia. Ahmed Kahraman-Gogrochadze, the founder of the company "Agronet", told bm.ge.

The company plans to invest 2 million EUR in Kakheti and Marneuli within two years.

The company owns walnut gardens and sells seedlings as well. Ahmed Kahraman-Gogrochadze says that existence of the similar type plant is necessary for small-scale farmers, who have nuts but cannot process the product.

The founder of Agronet considers Turkey as a key market for Georgian walnut, because the neighboring country buys this product form other countries.

Ahmed Kahraman-Gogrochadze also plans to establish large cooperatives in Georgia.

“There are cooperatives in Turkey with 150,000 members. All members bring harvest that are classified by calibrates. The cooperative finds partners abroad and sells the products. We have the same plan in Georgia. For more illustration, not all farmers can build enterprises and they grow nuts up to 10 ha. That's why we are going to work in this direction as well,” the businessman said.

Agronet Company has been operating in Georgia for 13 years and their focus is agriculture. The company has a nursery, agro-tech and trades with fertilizers. Their holding also includes company Geolive, which owns olive gardens in Kakheti and produces Georgian olive oil.
