"We are not considering travel fare increase for minibuses," the Tbilisi Vice Mayor once again told the media after the government meeting.

Khmaladze has noted that Tbilisi Minibus will share the fate of City Park, as heavy conditions are due to external factors and the company is not blamed in it.

“Tbilisi Minibus cannot share the fate of City Park due to some reasons. If you mean to dismiss the company, it will not be a fair decision. Company’s heavy conditions are caused by the external factors, including the financial problems.

As for the tariff growth, the auditor also recommends the price increase, as the best solution to expand company’s revenues, but there are other alternatives. When the municipality adopts a public transport policy and calls on the public to stop private cars, the tariff increase is not correct at this time and it is even more dramatic. In addition, I take into account the economic situation of the population and we will consider all the options, excluding the transport prices rise. I will have a plan within a week”, Khmaladze said.
