According to the decision of the Government of Georgia, during 2021, the companies that create products, the increased cost of electricity will be subsidized from the state budget. Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia stated about it after the end of the Coordination Council.
It should be noted that in parallel with the announcement, a meeting was held at the GNERC, where the electricity tariff was to be determined for the next 5 years. Under the GNERC project, tariff increases for non-household customers will increase by more than 11 tetri per kilowatt.
110-35 sqm - 27,370 tetri - an increase of 11,260 tetri;
10-6-3.3 sqm - 29,646 tetri - increase to 12,764 tetri;
380-220 sqm - 32,831 tetri - Increase 11,612 tetri.
"As you know, the increase in electricity tariffs will be not only for individuals but also for organizations, and of course, there is a risk in the price of the final product of the transfer of this increased tariff. For this reason, the Government of Georgia has decided that the increased tariff for all companies in the production of local food products will be fully subsidized by the difference between the current tariff and the increased tariff by 50% by 2021.
This is the minimum that allows us to be sure that the increase in electricity tariffs will not be reflected in the final price of food products produced in Georgia, "- said Giorgi Gakharia.
