Bidzina Ivanishvili declared to TV Imedi, that the government intends to send several hundred citizens legally in Germany for seasonal work. According to him, unemployment is a major problem for Georgia today.
“A lot of Georgians go abroad for a work today and most of them are employed illegally. That was my initiative and we discussed it with Mamuka Bakhtadze. We have formed a team for that purpose and actively work with developed European countries for several months... Europeans have jobs, but they are lack of workforce, we don't have jobs, that's our main problem.
Let me explain … Poland, three Baltic states, Bulgaria, are like Georgia. Politicians are anxious and try to improve economy and solve the problems. There is also a big difference between the economies of the EU member states. Consequently, the labor force flows there where the wages are high. But, it is done in a civilized way.
We will begin this process very actively ... we may send several hundreds of citizens in spring and offer legal seasonal works. We can sign agreements within 2-3 years, ”Bidzina Ivanishvili said.
