The Kazakh authorities plan to reduce oil production in 2022 to 85.7 mln tonnes from 87.5 mln tonnes projected earlier, National Economic Minister Alibek Kuantyrov told reporters on Tuesday.

"We have upgraded the oil price outlook for 2022 from $60 to $90 per barrel. A slight decline to 85.7 mln tonnes is projected for oil production," he said when asked about the oil production outlook for this year.

Earlier, the Kazakh Energy Ministry planned crude oil output in 2022 at 87.5 mln tonnes.

Kazakhstan produced 85.9 mln tonnes in 2021, and 85.7 mln tonnes in 2020, Russian TASS reports.
