The damage caused to the building of the Almaty akimat during the events of January 4-8 has been estimated at T20 billion (US$46 mln), and the total damage to the city is estimated at T112.6 billion (US$259 mln).

“Administrative buildings in Almaty suffered damage worth KZT22.6 billion (US$52.6 mln). Including the building of the akimat - KZT20 billion (46mln), the building of the Prosecutor General's Office - KZT2 billion (US$4.6mln), the buildings of the police department - KZT205 million (US$471K), eco-posts - KZT163 million (US$374K), medical facilities - KZT2 million (US$4.6K)", said the participants of the meeting of the city headquarters for restoration of life support in Almaty, KazTag reports.

Business entities suffered damage worth KZT67 billion (US$154 mln): including small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) - KZT42 billion (US$96 mln), large businesses - KZT25 billion (US$57 mln). The total damage estimate makes KZT112.6 billion (US$259 mln).
