Kovzanadze Met With IMF Resident Representative

Irakli Kovzanadze, Chairman of the Budget and Finance Committee, met with International Monetary Fund (IMF) Resident Representative for Georgia, Selim Chakir to discuss the draft state budget for 2022, challenges of the Georgian economy, including macroeconomic stability, fiscal and monetary policy, inflation, the situation in the banking sector and others.

The conversation focused on the IMF's new program.

The Chairman Committee expressed optimism that the fund program will start soon.

According to Irakli Kovzanadze, the country urgently requires the IMF program, and we are doing everything possible to ensure that it continues.

"One of the determinants for continuing the IMF program will be next year's budget”, - Irakli Kovzanadze said.
