Rati Dzeria, director of the cargo airline Easycharter, believes that a cargo shipment system must be developed and all components of transportation should be included in it. "We are talking about ports as well as the development of air and land transport",- he noted.

"Georgia has proven that it has a great potential for air cargo transportation, and the number of cargo airlines established in the last 5-7 years also indicates this. This is not just a trend and there is a demand in the market, although no single type of transport can serve all kinds of cargo. Therefore, thinking about multimodal shipments and connecting these loads together is essential. It is much more important to connect aviation, rail and land transport, which unfortunately exist as independent entities today. I mean business here.

That's why the development of Kutaisi airport is important, which today does not serve cargo at all. Due to its geographical location and already existing infrastructure, it has great potential. Also, the deepening of the Poti Port, the construction of the Anaklia Port, the development of the Kvsheti-Kobi tunnel will significantly contribute to the increase in the number of transit cargoes. For example, we can bring cargo from China by plane and from there to Armenia, Azerbaijan and Turkey by car, and to Eastern European countries - by ferry. It will be much cheaper and at the same time faster", says Dzeria.

Today only Tbilisi International Airport has a cargo terminal.
