Founder of Coca-Cola Bottlers Georgia, businessman Temur Chkhonia considers it early for Georgia to introduce a visa regime for Russian citizens.

"Tourism has a great impact on the economy, on the stability of the GEL exchange rate, the country has other opportunities in terms of economic development. It is not only tourism, it is a chance for people to escape from Putin's regime and come to Georgia for business development, but the establishment of a visa regime is extremely early, it is a topic of discussion, let's not hurry", says Temur Chkhonia.

A certain part of society, including the political party "Droa" demands the introduction of visa regime and tourist tax for Russian visitors. They believe that on the background of the weakening of the national security system of Georgia, the uncontrolled entry of Russian tourists contains special dangers.

The largest number of visitors to Georgia has been recorded from the Russian Federation in Q2 - 147.7 thousand, which is 19.3% of the total number of visitors.
