The volume of loans issued by commercial banks (excluding interbank loans) in July 2020 increased by 694.04 million GEL or by 2.05% compared to the previous month (exchange rate effect excluded, increased by 0.72%) and constituted 34.49 billion GEL by August 1, 2020.
The volume of loans in national currency increased by 232.94 million GEL (1.61%) and the volume of loans in foreign currency increased by 461.10 million GEL or by 2.39% in the same period (exchange rate effect excluded, increased by 0.05%).
By the end of July 2020, the total volume of national currency denominated loans to resident legal entities issued by commercial banks amounted to 4.44 billion GEL (0.40% less compared to the previous month), and foreign currency denominated loans constituted 12.16 billion GEL (2.83% more; exchange rate effect excluded volume of lending in foreign currency increased by 0.46%).
During July 2020, the volume of lending to resident household sector increased by 2.37% or 395.84 million GEL, and constituted 17.10 billion GEL by August 1, 2020.
Larization ratio for total loans constituted 42.72 percent by August 1, 2020 and decreased by 0.19 percentage point (exchange rate effect excluded, increased by 0.38 percentage point), compared to July 1, 2020.
