The foreign direct investments (FDI) in Georgia amounted to USD 496.6 million in Q1 2023 (preliminary data), down 13.7% from the preliminary data of Q1 2022 and up 53.3% from the data of Q4 2022, - according to Geostat.

The Netherlands reaching USD 239.6 million in Q1 2023 (48.2%) was the major foreign direct investor country, Japan was the second with USD 63.2 million (12.7%), followed by the United States with USD 54.7 million (11%). The share of the 5 largest investor countries is 87.1% of the total investment.

1. The Netherlands - USD 239.6 million, an increase of 630% compared to the previous year
2. Japan - USD 63.2 million an increase of 700% compared to the previous year
3. USA - USD 54.7 million, an increase of 70% compared to the previous year
4. Turkey - USD 47 million, a decrease from the previous year -28%
5. Russia - USD 28.2 million, last year investments from Russia were minus 11 million dollars.
6. Marshall Islands - USD 23.7 million, an increase of 30% over the previous year
7. Kazakhstan - USD 20 million, an increase of 953% compared to the previous year
8. China - USD 19.9 million, a decrease from the previous year -46%
9. Denmark - USD 11.1 million, an increase of 28% compared to the previous year
10. Switzerland - USD 10.3 million, an increase of 39% compared to the previous year.
