Today, on August 10, 2022, the National Bank of Georgia bought USD 40 000 000 during its Foreign Exchange Auction, reads an official statement of the regulator.

The average weighted bid rate was 2.7096, the Bank says.

It was the third purchase of USD via auction during the ten days of August. 

The first auction was conducted on August 1, 2022. NBG  purchased USD 10 000 000 during its Foreign Exchange Auction. The average weighted bid rate was 2.7514.

Later on August 5, Central Bank purchased USD 20 000 000. The average weighted bid rate was 2.7186.

So, amid significant appreciation of Georgian lari against USD, during last ten days the regulator purchased USD 70 million only through auction.
