Metro Station Gotsiridze will not be opened in May due to the rehabilitation works.

Rehabilitation of Metro Station Gotsiridze started in February and 3.5 million GEL was allocated for the project. As Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze explained early this year, the metro station would be closed for 3 months.

However, as it turned out, the rehabilitation works of the metro station could not be completed on time. According to Tbilisi Transport Company, additional works were revealed during the rehabilitation due to which a new tender should be announced.

“Currently, the company selected during the first tender is finishing the work. Another company will be selected through a tender for additional works. So far, we cannot name the value of the work, because the tender documents are being prepared now," the company said in a statement.

Tbilisi Transport Company cannot specify a date when the metro station will be able to serve the citizens.

“We cannot say the dates at this time, as tender documents for another rehabilitation work are being prepared," the company said.
