Minister of Health Ekaterine Tikaradze positively assesses the issue of amnesty for citizens with fines related to covid regulations and says that the decision is not related to the pre-election period, but it is a decision made for the good of the population.
The Minister noted that the aim of the government is not penalty sanctions but to increase the responsibility of citizens.
"We made this decision as a team. Therefore, the effectiveness of this decision was discussed at the Coordination Council, and the Council considered it very important for our citizens at this stage, as well as for the private sector, with some benefits, to have amnesty for fines.
It is still a long time before the elections. This is not a pre-election decision. It is just a decision made for more benefits and goodwill for our citizens that will increase civic responsibility. We are watching how motivated the government is to take civil responsibility and work together to fight the pandemic because what matters to us is not sanctions, but effective governance," he said.
