Pension Agency Explains The Reason of Restricting Information On Pension Savings

Individuals’ access to their pension information has been restored across Georgia following a brief unavailability of services earlier on Monday due to a system update, the Pension Agency of Georgia said.

The Agency said it had briefly restricted access to the information for facilitating the update, which it said was required for ensuring its infrastructure met “relevant security and performance requirements” of its platform.

As Nikoloz Gagnidze, the chief technology officer of the agency, says, during the weekend they updated the electronic databases, and during the mentioned time the information was not available to the citizens.

"The Pension Agency gradually updates the IT infrastructure. As you know, millions of data are stored in our database, and for their processing, our infrastructure must meet the relevant protection and performance requirements. One such technical update was underway in these days, during which access to pension savings in Internet Banking was limited. At this stage, the update is completed and all services and information are still available as usual", Gagnidze said.

Citizens wrote on social media that data on their pension savings was not visible in their banking applications.
