Municipal transport, recreation zones, restaurants to be under strict control to avoid more coronavirus-related cases in the country, the Georgian government’s press office reports.

During the last 24 hours, Georgia has confirmed 12 new cases of the coronavirus, out of which the sources of five patients have not been identified yet.

Government and epidemiologists have once more urged people to stick to the recommendations despite the fact some restrictions have been lifted in the country.

As the number of new cases has increased in Georgia, the timely identification and treatment of each citizen is very important. In the future, epidemiologists and the government will determine the group of people who will undergo mandatory PCR (polymerase chain reaction) testing. Citizens with a fever and other respiratory symptoms must consult family doctors or call 112 in order to be tested for Covid-19 with a rapid PCR test”, reports the government’s press office.

Georgia has reported 12 new cases of the coronavirus earlier today, bringing the total number of cases to 843.
697 of the 843 patients have recovered, while 13 others have died.
