Moldova today submitted to the European Union the filled in questionnaire on accession, which the country received in Brussels on 11 April, the presidential press service has reported.

The questionnaire was delivered to EU Ambassador to Moldova Janis Mazeiks by Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita at a ceremony with the participation of the members of the national commission for European integration, set up under presidential decree today. The commission brings together representatives of state institutions and civil society and will coordinate the efforts of the country’s preparation for accession to the European Union – Moldova’s country project.

According to President Maia Sandu, Moldova makes one more step forward on the path of the European integration and the carrying out of this project implies much work and mobilization of the entire society.

„We are prepared for this, as we want to provide the citizens with a better living, with more opportunities, in a democratic society. A small and vulnerable country, Moldova can have a safer, a more peaceful and more prosperous future, in the family of the European Union member states,’’ the head of state said, MoldPres reports.
