"Georgian Airways has the potential to evolve under effective management," Natia Turnava, the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, told bm.ge.
The Minister responded to a statement made by Georgian Airways CEO Roman Bokeria in the TV-program “Business Morning" that the company is facing a serious crisis and is seeking government assistance.
“Georgian Airways is a Georgian company that has been operating in the market for many years. In my opinion, it has a pretty good potential to evolve under more efficient management. At this point, the issue of its subsidy is not on the agenda. That was discussed directly after direct flights with Russia were suspended last year. Not only Georgian Airways, but the whole Georgian economy and tourism were affected”, Natia Turnava declares.
