Within the framework of the municipal transport development program, 5 8.5-meter buses were handed over to Telavi. The Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development spreads information about it.

The new buses are designed for 50 passengers and are fully adapted for people with disabilities.

"6 cities of Georgia have been selected for the development of municipal transport. From 175 buses, 10 will be sent to Telavi and 10 to Poti, 30 to Gori, 25 to Zugdidi, 40 to Rustavi, and 60 to Kutaisi.

The program is implemented by the Municipal Development Fund of the Ministry of Infrastructure with the financial support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), which includes the purchase of 175 buses of different standards for different municipalities, totaling 18.7 million euros, "the ministry said in a statement.

According to the agency, the buses will be delivered to different municipalities in stages until next year. Municipalities determine new bus routes and transport corridors.

For reference, Telavi has not had municipal transport so far.
