Irakli Bokolishvili, General Director of JSC Nikora assesses the impact of COVID-19 and notes that despite the current situation, the production of products in any of the subsidiaries of Nikora Holding has not been delayed and is still ongoing.

As Irakli Bokolishvili told BM.GE, the introduction of tightened security measures to prevent the new coronavirus has increased the company's expenditures. At the same time, the rapid depreciation of the national currency has had a significant impact on them.

"We have not closed any supermarkets. We will fulfill our main duty and provide the consumer market with the products of both our producers and other suppliers so that the population does not face problems in terms of product access.

COVID-19 posed a number of challenges: significantly reduced sales and at the same time, increased expenditures, as well as devaluation of lari has become a heavy burden, because 80% of raw materials is imported. As we realize, social responsibility of our company, we have not increased the prices on any of our products and we do not plan to take this step in the near future.

We have to work in a tense mode, but we can say that we are successfully dealing with the existing challenges. With the introduction of each new regulation, it is operatively reorganized, and the regulations are constantly changing within the framework of the state of emergency,”the CEO of JSC Nikora told BM.GE.
