On the background of the COVID-19 pandemic, the number of online payments hit a record high in Georgia.
According to the statistics by the National Bank of Georgia (NBG), in September 2020 more internet operations amounted to more than 409 million GEL, which marks a 115.5 million GEL increase in just one year. According to NBG, one transaction on average is equal to 56.4 GEL.
