Number of Vehicle Re-export Down by 66,000 in 2020

The number of vehicle re-export from Georgia down by 66,000 in 2020. The total revenue of the sector dropped by 328.7 million USD. Consequently, the COVID-19 crisis hit the vehicle trade hard.

As of the Geostat report, exports to Armenia fell by 98%. In 2020, the number of vehicle re-export to Armenia totaled 850, while the figure exceeded 59 thousand in 2019. The drop in exports on the Armenian market is 230 million USD.

Like Armenia, sharp declines in re-exports were noted in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and the UAE. In return, re-exports increased to Ukraine, Tajikistan and Turkey.
