The number of transit trailers passing through Georgia has increased to a record high. In October, 39,301 trucks paid the road usage fee in the country's budget. The total amount is GEL 13.755 million.

The number of trailers in the corridor increased by 37% or 10,735 units in October 2022 compared with the same period of 2021.

According to the data of the State Treasury, the income received from road usage exceeded GEL 98.53 million in January-October.

Revenue from road use:

• 10 months of 2022 - GEL 98.53 million
• 10 months of 2021 - GEL 54.38 million

The increase in revenue from road use was caused by two factors - freight shipments increased in the corridor of Georgia, and the price of road use increased from 2022. If each trailer paid GEL 200 for road usage until June 20, 2022, after June 20 the tax increased to GEL 350.
