According to the NDI survey, one in five Georgian households struggles to buy food.

The majority of the population surveyed by NDI are concerned about price increases. In particular, 77% say that inflation worries them a lot, while 1% don't worry about it.

38% of the population blames the price increase in the country on the policy of the Georgian government, while 31% believe that the increase is the result of other factors.

Along with the increase in prices, the number of people who cannot afford food is increasing. According to NDI data, one in five Georgian households struggles to buy food. 18% of respondents said that they did not have money for food, and 35% said that they only had money for food, but not for clothes.

It should be noted that due to financial difficulties, 74% of the population spend less on clothes compared to last year, and 34% drive less.

According to the majority, income of up to GEL 3000 would be enough for a comfortable life. This opinion is shared by Tbilisi residents, young people and people with higher education.

The survey was conducted between December 3 - December 20, through face-to-face interviews with a nationwide representative sample of Georgia’s adult population, excluding occupied territories. The December poll included 2,519 completed interviews. The average margin of error is +/- 1.6 percent.
