Irakli Garibashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia appointed Otar Danelia to the position of the Business Ombudsman of Georgia.

Irakli Garibashvili met Otar Danelia at the Government Administration yesterday and wished him every success in the new capacity.

The Head of Government of Georgia highlighted that support of the private sector is a priority of the national authorities and the referred sector will be given maximum support, as facilitation of business is a prerequisite of economic growth and employment in the country.

The Prime Minister of Georgia gave specific instructions to the newly-appointed Business Ombudsman and noted that open cooperation with the private sector, few barriers and least bureaucracy are essential. Meeting was also focused on the significance of greater ease of corporate access to public services.

Otar Danelia most recently served as the First Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, with a previous stint as the Head of the National Agency of Mines.

Between 2016-2020 he was the Chairman of the Parliamentary Agriculture Committee, preceded by work as agriculture minister between 2014-2016.
