Today, 1797 settlements have a highland status, of which 1767 are villages, the rest - cities and towns; 258 000 residents enjoy the government benefits and 439 enterprises have the status of highlanders, - said the Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Irakli Karseladze after the meeting of the National Council for Mountain Development, which was held in the government administration.
According to the Minister, the strategy for 2021-2023 has a growing trend, 20 % more projects are planned to be implemented within the project, the total cost of which will be 973 million GEL.
"It is noteworthy that there is a 15% excess in terms of project implementation and the amount of implemented projects amounted to a total of 903 million GEL. This includes the rehabilitation of hundreds of kilometers of roads, water systems, schools, kindergartens and other necessary infrastructure. The strategy for 2021-2023 has a growing trend, 20 % more projects are planned to be implemented within the project, their total value amounts to 973 million GEL," - said Irakli Karseladze.
