According to Tengiz Tsertsvadze, Director General of the Center for Infectious Diseases, the introduction of two vaccines in the country is being considered - AstraZeneca and one Chinese vaccine.

"We are talking about bringing two vaccines to us - AstraZeneca and one of the Chinese. China has five vaccines, and we are talking about one. I want to tell you that the rating of Chinese vaccines in the world is quite high," Tsertsvadze told Formula One.

He said the coronavirus originated in China, and therefore, the Chinese are all better aware of its structure and features. Tsertsvadze does not rule out that the Chinese vaccine is superior to all other vaccines.

On January 8, Health Minister Ekaterine Tikaradze said that the COVAX platform might provide a certain dose of the vaccine in February, which would be distributed to at-risk groups.
