Passenger Flow In Tbilisi Airport Up By 62% In 6 Months

The Civil Aviation Agency reports, that in the 6 months of the current year, the passenger flow in Georgian airports increased by 69%.

In particular, according to the data of 6 months, the airports served a total of 1,716,718 passengers, which is 189% more than the number of passengers transported in the same period of 2021. Passenger flow has recovered at 69% of the pre-pandemic level.

As for the airports, Tbilisi International Airport served 1,163,177 passengers during the given period. The increase is 166% compared to the same period of 2021. In addition, with the mentioned indicator of passenger flow, Tbilisi International Airport returned to the pre-pandemic level by 62%.

In two quarters of 2022, 328,386 passengers were transported through Kutaisi International Airport. The increase compared to the same period of 2021 is 965%. The passenger flow recovery rate of Kutaisi Airport is 90% compared to the first 6 months of 2019.

The third international airport of Georgia served 216,062 passengers. The growth of Batumi Airport is 77% compared to the same period of 2021, and compared to the same period of 2019, the passenger flow recovery rate is 87%.

In the 6 months of 2022, a total of 8,556 flights were carried out at the airports of Georgia. Of these, the number of regular flights was 6,785, and the number of charter flights was 1,771. Compared to the number of flights carried out in the first 6 months of 2021, flights have increased by 84%, and compared to the same period in 2019, the recovery rate is 70%.
