Passenger flow increased by 27% at Kutaisi International Airport, while flight number was up by 64% in August 2022.
According to the United Airptos of Georgia, Davit Agmashenebeli International Airport historically served the most flights and passengers in August 2022, compared to the same period of 2019.
Namely, 111,566 passengers used Kutaisi International Airport in August (87,969 passengers in August 2019). In addition, air traffic at the Kutaisi International Airport also reached a historical maximum in August and thier number increased by 64% and served 450 flights (August 2019 - 274 flights).
"Our positive expectations regarding the growth of air dynamics were justified. Last months for Kutaisi International Airport were historically the busiest. In August, passenger number hit a record high, which is due to the return of the second Wizz Air-based aircraft at our airport, as well as the Indian airline Spice started regular charter flights. These innovations contributed to the increase of passenger flow and flights at Kutaisi airport," said Tamar Archuadze, director of United Airptos of Georgia.
Six air companies operate in 28 directions in 17 countries at Kutaisi International Airport, the United Airports of Georgia noted.
