People living in Abkhazia have been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic. USAID/Georgia is providing support, giving medical professionals the equipment and training they need to mitigate the spread of the disease. The news is published on the official Facebook page of USAID/Georgia.
This USAID-funded 40kW diesel generator was recently delivered to the laboratory of the Central Epidemiological Service. The generator will ensure an uninterrupted power supply while the laboratory conducts PCR testing.
The generator was delivered under USAID’s Horizons Prоgram, an ongoing partnership with UNDP that is responding to the pandemic and bringing medical professionals together, including from Abkhazia and Tbilisi-administered territory, to share best practices in confronting the pandemic.
