According to Amiran Gamkrelidze, head of the National Center for Disease Control, up to 250 beds are available today, and a total of 8,000 beds can be mobilized for covid patients.

"Up to 250 beds are free in the country today, 4500 are occupied, but the Minister of Health said that 600 beds are in the release phase and other 700 beds in line. In general, it is determined that up to 8000 beds will be mobilized in the country for covid patients. There are 17,000 beds in total, and we can mobilize 12,000 of them. We can use 8,000 beds for covid patients," said Amiran Gamkrelidze.

According to him, everything is being done to reduce pressure on the hospitals.

"People may have to wait, queues are expected, but then they will be placed as needed. It is a difficult process, but it can be manageable. That is why the practice of home treatment and covid-hotels has been introduced to alleviate hospital beds," said Amiran Gamkrelidze.
