The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has adopted a document according to which Russian assets in the territory of Ukraine become the state property, being transferred to the State Enterprise "National Investment Fund".

The Government made a corresponding decision at a meeting on Tuesday, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal posted on Telegram.

"We will take away everything that Russia owns in Ukraine and channel these assets into strengthening the army, supporting the people, and rebuilding our country. Today, the Cabinet of Ministers approved a document according to which Russian assets in Ukraine are transferred to the state property, or more precisely to the State Enterprise ‘National Investment Fund’. Both the President and the Government have repeatedly stated that Russia must pay for what it has destroyed in Ukraine," Shmyhal wrote.

The Ukrainian authorities continue to work with international partners to ensure that Russian assets in other countries are also confiscated and transferred for the reconstruction of our country, he added.

On February 24, Russian president Vladimir Putin announced a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Russian troops destroy infrastructure, residential areas of Ukrainian cities, towns, and villages using artillery, MLRS, and ballistic missiles.

The United States, the European Union, and other countries have imposed sanctions on Russia as an aggressor state whose international isolation is growing by the day, Ukrinform reports.
