The government of Georgia will bring 14 sanatoriums worth GEL 50 million in Tskaltubo for sale.

Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili announced this during his speech at the presentation of the project - "New Life of Tskaltubo".

"Our plan is to start the process of Tskaltubo recovery. This is the promise of our ruling power. All issues, including the water problem, have been solved, and now we have 14 sanatoriums for sale, the value of which, according to today's estimation, is GEL 50 million.

We expect that GEL 500 million will be invested for Tskaltubo recovery. It will be private investment, and additionally the state undertakes to invest tens of millions of GEL to make Tskaltubo a modern world-class spa-resort", said Irakli Gharibashvili.

In addition, as the head of the government noted, the implemented large-scale infrastructural projects will positively affect the economy of the municipality, the entire region and the well-being of the people.

"The government is doing everything to develop the resort. The infrastructure at the resort was well equipped. Our government has already carried out significant reconstruction works, as a result of which the capacity of Kutaisi International Airport has increased four times, and the transport infrastructure is in order. All this together, the uniqueness of Tskaltubo, its nature, water, these resources give this resort a great advantage. In 2019, Tskaltubo was visited by only 25,000 visitors, and our guess is that this figure will double in a few years. Of course, all this will have a positive effect on the economy of the municipality and the well-being of our people. With joint efforts of the private sector and the government, we have the ambition to turn Tskaltubo into a modern resort of the 21st century, but at the same time with a rich historical heritage," said the Prime Minister.
