Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili instructed relevant agencies to ensure within the next few days mass vaccination centers' full readiness for streamlining the vaccination process.

As the country expects a million vaccine doses in the beginning of July, it is imperative that the process of vaccination is as rapid as possible, and no gaps whatsoever should be allowed in terms of the numbers of immunization teams or properly functioning registration procedures, the Head of Government emphasized.

The Prime Minister emphasized the need to manage the mass vaccination process effectively, especially in light of eased restrictions and tourist season, in order to maintain the country's stable epidemiological situation. The Interagency Coordination Council also discussed the current epidemiological situation in the country.

On the Interagency Coordination Council's decision, the 11 PM-4 AM curfew will be lifted on July 1. Nonetheless, eateries will not be allowed to operate between midnight and 5 AM, even after July 1. Nightclub operations will be similarly restricted.

Wearing facemasks outdoors is no longer mandatory, thus being only a recommendation, because facemasks are one of the most effective ways of protection against the virus worldwide. Facemasks remain mandatory in places of mass gatherings, including at bus stops, marketplaces, public transport, and indoor facilities.

Since the first coronavirus case identified in Georgia, the country has seen 365,068 confirmed cases, with 351,144 recoveries and 5,297 deaths.

Presently, 42 persons are in quarantine, 611 are in clinical hotels, and 2,639 are hospitalized under medical supervision.

The Parliament of Georgia led by Speaker Kakha Kuchava and the President's Administration are actively involved in the work of the Interagency Coordination Council under the Prime Minister.
