PM meets with fishermen; says state programs will expand to support them

After the opening ceremony of the Poti Maritime Education and Training Center, the Prime Minister of Georgia met with fishermen together with the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Natia Turnava, Head o Enterprise Georgia Mikheil Khidureli, and Head of Maritime Transport Agency Tamar Ioseliani.

It was said that the state programs would be expanded to include support for the purchase of a fishing vessel, as well as co-financing of the necessary infrastructure.

After the meeting with the fishermen, a trilateral memorandum was signed between the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, the Enterprise Georgia Agency, TBC Leasing, and the owner of the fishing vessel, according to which the construction of the first fishing vessel will be financed within the framework of the Enterprise Georgia program, which is meant to help update the fishing fleet, as well as create new jobs.
