Potato imports were up by 46.1% in 2020 amid the pandemic. The country spent 3.5 million USD on acquisition of 17 980.6 t last year.

According to Geostat, Georgia imported largest volume of potato from Germany, Turkey and the Netherlands last year.

2.Turkey - 883.4 thousand USD, 8909.5 t;
3.Netherlands - 565 thousand USD, 741 t;
4.Azerbaijan - 394.4 thousand USD, 2 466.6 t;
5.Russia - 327.5 thousand USD, 2 576.9 t;
6.France - 122.6 thousand USD, 172.7 t;
7.Egypt - 114.8 thousand USD, 849 t;

Georgia purchased a small volume of potatoes from Armenia, Belarus and Iran in 2020.

As for exports, the volume was up by 9.7% and amounted to 1.1 million USD in 2020.
