Pursuant to the Administration, despite the desire and readiness of the President of Georgia, the meeting of the Presidents did not take place.
"The President of Georgia welcomes the working visit of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, to Georgia.
Due to the importance of the issue, the Administration of the President of Georgia considers it appropriate to inform the public that the President was not informed about the working visit of the President of the neighboring and friendly country, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, to Georgia.
Despite the desire and readiness of the President of Georgia, unfortunately, the meeting of the presidents, which is traditionally held during the visit of all heads of state to the country, did not take place.
The President of Georgia once again expresses its readiness and desire to receive the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on an official visit in the near future," the presidential administration said in a statement.
President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev arrived to Georgia for a one day working visit at about 11:25 of October 24. He hold a one-on-one meeting with the Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, made press statements, visited 'Heritage of Karabakh Khanate' exhibition, attended cultural program and have had a working lunch at Chateau Mukhrani in Mtskheta Municipality together with the Georgian PM.
