Of course, Mrs Salome will certainly get approval for the request to visit Brussels - it is a technical issue that administrations decide between themselves and it is frivolous and inappropriate to bring it up in public, Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili told reporters, thus responding to the statement of the President's Administration that the Government has not yet given approval of Salome Zourabichvili's visit to Brussels.

As the Prime Minister explains, making the mentioned statement on the part of the administration is "an attempt to divert attention".

"It is very embarrassing to talk about these topics. It is a technical issue that is decided by the administrations among themselves. It is frivolous and inappropriate to bring this up in public. It doesn't deserve that much attention. Of course, Mrs Salome will certainly get approval for the request to visit Brussels. She said that she had a previously planned visit to the European Parliament, they were waiting for her, but she did not go and blamed us. In this regard, we made public the information that we had given consent. This is an attempt to divert attention. Nothing happens at all. We are working, and the most important thing is what we are implementing," said Irakli Garibashvili.

The President is planning a visit to Brussels, for which she is waiting for the approval of the Government of Georgia.

"On May 15, Putin's decree on the restoration of direct flights came into force. On May 15, the Government of Georgia immediately gave its consent.

On April 27, the government received an appeal regarding the President's visit to Brussels on May 31. The government of Georgia has not given its consent so far," the President's Administration said.
