According to Mamuka Bregvadze, director of operations for the pharmaceutical company PSP, regulation of all medicines’ prices by the state will not bring good results.
As he noted while assessing the issue, large producers may leave the country as a result of price regulation.
"In general, price regulation has not brought good results on the similar markets where it has already happened. Consequently, price regulation for all medicines will not bring positive results. It has been also announced that this could lead large manufacturers to leave the country”, Bregvadze said.
To remind, according to the Deputy Minister of Health Tamar Gabunia, the state is working on legislation that could expand the list of medicines for chronic diseases and regulate prices for some medicines.
