During the summer tourist season, a total of 100 flights were performed in the direction of Batumi, Mestia, and Ambrolauri. BMG has requested information from the Georgian Airports Association on how many passengers have used these flights and how local flights have been reduced compared to the 2019 tourist season.

Tbilisi-Batumi flights:

From July 24, flights between Tbilisi and Batumi were operated by Ak-Air Georgia with the Embraer E120 type aircraft, which has a maximum number of 30 seats. From July 24 to September 30, a total of 22 flights were operated on the Tbilisi-Batumi airline. During the same period, 842 passengers traveled the said route.

Flights to Natakhtari-Mestia:

Queen Tamar Local Airport in Mestia served a total of 33 flights and 1122 passengers between July 24 and September 30, 2020. This is a 62% decrease in the number of flights compared to the previous year and a 53% decrease in terms of passenger flow. It should be noted, however, that the load on each flight is 77% in 2020, which is only 2% less than in the previous year. It should also be noted that the town of Mestia was closed on August 10 due to a complicated epidemic situation, due to which the flights were suspended from August 10 to September 3.

Flights to Natakhtari-Ambrolauri:

Ambrolauri Local Airport served a total of 27 flights and 918 passengers between July 24 and September 30, 2020. This is a 7% decrease in the number of flights compared to the previous year and a 32% increase in terms of passenger flow. It should be noted, however, that the load of each flight in 2020 is 71%, which is 4% more than in the previous year.
