"Additional point restrictions are needed," Gakharia talked with health experts

The current epidemiological situation in Georgia and the challenges in the management of Covid-19 were discussed by the Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Gakharia at a meeting with healthcare experts.
 
As reported by bm.ge. The focus was on the readiness of the hospital sector.
 
"Talks were held on what steps can be taken to avoid overcrowding in the hospital sector so that people who need special medical treatment in the first place are not left out of the clinic. At home - in consultation with a family doctor, or in covid hotels, where medical supervision of the infected is provided. 

It was jointly noted at the meeting that additional point restrictions are needed to reduce mobility. It was also emphasized that the conversation does not refer to the universal "lockdown".

"Also, the importance of wearing a mask and keeping a distance, which helps prevent the spread of the virus, has been emphasized once again," the government administration said in a statement.
 
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Prime Minister of Georgia, Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Maia Tskitishvili, Minister of Health Ekaterine Tikaradze, Minister of Finance Ivane Machavariani. Paata Imnadze, Deputy Director of the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health, Maia Butsashvili, Infectious Diseases Specialist, Akaki Zoidze, Health Expert, Bidzina Kulumbegov, Immunologist-Allergist, Giorgi Kandelaki, Infectious Diseases Specialist, Giorgi Zaburzuli and Doctors - Giorgi Gotsadze participated in the discussion.
