Mariush Mashkievich, Ambassador of Poland to Georgia told BM.GE and Forbes Georgia that Poland has a great experience in the construction of highways and roads. However, Georgia hires Chinese companies for road construction.

According to the Acting Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure, Maia Tskitishvili, she also regrets that Polish companies do not participate in the tenders:

"Unfortunately, not a single Polish company has participated in any infrastructure projects implemented in Georgia. I also regret that Polish companies do not participate in tenders. Any company from any country can take part in the tender, it is not restricted”, said Maia Tskitishvili.

According to her, competition is protected by the tender conditions and those companies win, which offer the best combination of price and quality.

"We want strong and large European company to win our tender, but the competition on the market does not allow them to do so and Chinese companies are winning," said the Acting Minister.

Tskitishvili notes, that all announced tenders are open and transparent.
