According to the Union of Importers of Oil Products, in May 2020, the import of oil bitumen in Georgia amounted to 7.7 thousand tons, which is 4.2 thousand tons or 120% more comparing April (3.5 thousand tons). However, the figure is 6.5 thousand tons or 45.8% less comparing to the same period of the last year (14.2 thousand tons).
Including, 59.7% (4.6 thousand tons) has been imported from the Republic of Azerbaijan, 24.7% (1.9 thousand tons) - from Iraq, 7.8% (0.6 thousand tons) - from Armenia, 3.9% ( 0.3 thousand tons) - from Russia, 2.6% (0.2 thousand tons) - from Turkey, 1.3% (0.1 thousand tons) - from the Islamic Republic of Iran.
In January-May of this year, oil bitumen imports amounted to 25.5 thousand tons, which is 18.6 thousand tons or 42.2% less comparing to the same period last year (44.1 thousand tons).
However, 53.7% (13.7 thousand tons) of imports accounts for Azerbaijan. Then followes: the Islamic Republic of Iran - 28.2% (7.2 thousand tons), Iraq - 11.4% (2.9 thousand tons), Armenia - 3.5% (0.9 thousand tons), Russia - 1 , 6% (0.4 thousand tons), United Emirates - 0.8% (0.2 thousand tons), Turkey - 0.8% (0.2 thousand tons).
