It is difficult to talk about a solution today, I think it is too late, - Kakha Khazaradze, the founder of ICR Group told TV-program Business Course. According to him, when lockdown was announced in March, they offered the Ministry of Economy to discuss long-term visions jointly. However, communication with the agency did not take place.
"The biggest problem is that there is no communication between the government and business. An anti-crisis plan for the economy is very important. The government provided social assistances, but they did not make a plan on the decisions, which should be made in the country,"- said Kakha Khazaradze.
According to him, there are other challenges besides the pandemic in the country and these are political problems.
As the founder of the ICR Group explained, elections have unstable impact on the business, investments are not coming longer and it causes devaluation of lari.
According to Kakha Khazaradze, the company had a decline of 25% during the summer after the lockdown. In September, this figure increased to 40%, while the figure grew to 50% late October.
"The problem is that there are no prospects. It is quite difficult to make a prediction. So, both large and small businesses are in a very difficult situation," he added.
The ICR Group was founded in 1993 and currently represents approximately 20 international and local brands, including: footwear, apparel, accessories, furniture and catering establishments.
